Instructions:
1.In a large pot, add water and meat, and bring to a boil. Skim off any foam that rises to the surface.
2.Add salt, bay leaves, black peppercorns, cloves, and cinnamon stick to the pot, and reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 45-50 minutes or until meat is tender.
3.In a separate bowl, whisk together yogurt, fennel powder, ginger powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, and turmeric powder.
4.In a pan, heat oil over medium heat, and add sliced onions. Fry until they turn golden brown.

5.Add the yogurt mixture to the pan, and stir for a minute or two until it starts to bubble.
6.Add the yogurt mixture to the pot of meat, and stir well. Cover and simmer for another 10-15 minutes so that the mixture gets cooked along with the meat.
7.Remove from heat and garnish with chopped cilantro.
Your Kashmiri Yakhni is ready to serve. This mouth-watering dish goes well with the steamed rice or naan bread.
