Neergarh waterfall is located near the Yoga capital of the world, Rishikesh. The waterfall is located in the Himalayan Mountain range which makes it more beautiful. It is about 6 kms away from the Ram Jhula. Tourists have to buy tickets at the entry point of Neergarh. The tickets costs around Rs.30 for Indian tourists and Rs.50 for foreign tourists. If you wish to carry a camera along, buy a ticket from the same counter. Otherwise, the camera might not be allowed.
From the entry, there is a trail of 1 km ahead before reaching the Neergarh waterfall. Then the main trek starts for reaching the main location of the waterfall. It is about an hour’s trek to reach the location. The time for visiting the waterfall is between 8 am to 6 pm.
How to reach Neergarh Waterfall?
There are many ways to reach the Neergarh waterfall. Travellers have to first reach Rishikesh and from there, one has to travel to waterfalls. The most convenient way to reach the waterfall is by renting a scooty. By traveling on a scooty you can enjoy the amazing views on your way. Parking is also available near the starting trek point for the scooty.
Whereas, if you are traveling in a car or a big vehicle you have further gone a little forward for parking. It is not even sure if you might find the parking space near or far away.
You can also reach the waterfall by booking a taxi or an e-rickshaw. It will cost you around Rs. 300 per person. Whereas, renting a scooty for a day will cost you around Rs. 500 petrol excluded. The rent for the car is between Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1500 petrol excluded.
Places to visit near Neergarh Waterfall
The nearest place you can visit when around the Neergarh Waterfall is the cafes and camps at the top of the waterfall. There are two campsites at the top of the camp which offer camping. Being at such a height allows these camps to have a stunning view. The sunset hour is the most beautiful hour on the camp.
The camp offers various activities like swimming, a tour to a nearby village, yoga, star gazing, and a trek up to starting point of the waterfall. The price for staying at the camp is Rs. 1200 per night.
Other than the camps, you can also explore the Patna waterfall. It is located at a distance of around 6 kms from the Neergarh waterfall. You can reach it in about 20 mins.
Further, if you have time, you might want to go and explore Shivpuri. It is a small beautiful village popular for adventure sports. The major attractions here are rafting, and kayaking in the river Ganga. Also, it is famous for camping on the banks of the river Ganga.

Rishikesh is a very popular tourist destination. Thus, it offers all types of cuisines. But if you want to have a taste of Indian food then you must try a thali.
